A three-hour drive north of Toronto brings you to Algonquin Park, offering formidable snow conditions from mid December to the end of March. This is the home to some of Canada’s top commercial dog outfitters. Drive your own team on a day trip as part of a Log Cabin or Cottage Outpost multi adventure. Or, join a 2 or 3 day expedition to remote camps with heated prospector tents. You will finish the trip with a new appreciation for the beauty of Algonquin Park and the art of dog sledding.

Algonquin Snowmobiling
Winter at Algonquin Park is a great time to explore areas of Ontario that are only accessible by air or water during the rest of the season. Ontario has over 49,000km of groomed trails, which forms one of the world’s largest network of trails. The Algonquin Cottage Outpost and Algonquin Log Cabin are located near the D-Line of the Ontario Snowmobile Trails.
Zoom across frozen lakes, glide through the snow covered forest and logging trails around the Algonquin Cottage Outpost. Snowmobiling at Algonquin Park provides a great opportunity to explore nature on an adrenaline rush.

Algonquin Log Cabin Winter Long Weekends
The Algonquin Log Cabin is ideal for a group of friends or family who love the outdoors, and offers an intimate and cozy base to ski, snowshoe and dogsled. The hilly terrain that surrounds the Log Cabin offers fantastic lookouts and is ideal for snowshoeing and backcountry skiing. Return for lakeside saunas and our famous regional appetizers served up fireside. With 6 bedrooms on the second floor, the Log cabin comfortably accommodates a group of 8 to 12.
For a true vacation, book the Log cabin for three days/ nights with the services of our cook and award winning guide team who ensure fantastic days on the trail followed by top notch hospitality at the log cabin.
