Itinerary
Algonquin Park's northwest corner is home to world-class dog sledding and snowmobiling!
Indeed South River, Ontario hosts one of the largest concentrations of commercial dogsled operators in Canada. This is authentic dog sledding. One-hour lesson, hooking up sleds, learning how to harness and a real mush driving your own team. In terms of Snowmobiling, the Ontario Federation Snowmobile trails are located just west of the Park boundary and offer groomed routes that traverse lakes and run through unspoiled winter wonderland. Relax at night in your own private chalet suite. This package is ideal for couples or small groups of friends looking for authentic adventure.
The Algonquin Cottage Outpost offers 3 fully furnished deluxe solar powered chalet suites with fireplace and deck - located on beautiful Kawawamog (Round) Lake at the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. Each chalet suite features two bedrooms, washroom with hot shower, living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, dining table, deck with BBQ.
THURSDAY - DAY 1
Arrive at Algonquin Cottage Outpost.
FRIDAY - DAY 2
Drive to dogyard for 8:30 am for a dogsled orientation session that covers harnessing a team, dogcare, trip itinerary, and sledding safety. Enjoy your team and the scenic sled as we mush through the Ontario Northland and vast areas of unspoiled wilderness stopping for a trail lunch. Return to your private chalet suite at the Algonquin Cottage Outpost. Enjoy torch lit skating under the stars.
SATURDAY - DAY 3
Enjoy a day snowmobiling on the beautiful trails of the Algonquin highlands. Trail mix includes scenic groomed forest trails and backcountry riding along old logging roads that head into Algonquin's frozen wilderness. Finish the day by riding your machine to town and capping off your day with a drink at the local hotel. Taxi shuttle back to Cottage Outpost.
SUNDAY - DAY 4
Optional snowshoe on Algonquin's Forgotten trails. Depart

Cost is $545 per person based on 4 people or $726 per person based on 2 people
Cost includes: Three nights accommodation ( 3 nights private chalet suite), guided dog sledding with packed lunch, snowmobiling( one machine per couple ), torch lit skating, post snowmobile snack and hot drink, use of snowshoes.
Cost does not include:
GST, personal clothing
Please note that each package can be customized. Full meal packages can be arranged for an additional charge. Add on activities include Snowmobiling and Ice Fishing.
RETURN TRAIN TRANSPORTATION FROM TORONTO
Cost is $130 per person for return train transportation from Toronto
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? WHAT KIND OF SHAPE DO YOU NEED TO BE IN?
None! The Algonquin Dogsled and Snowmobile is for people at any level of experience.
In terms of fitness, Dog sledding is somewhat strenuous and requires participants to be in moderate shape. You will enjoy yourself if you can be active for up to 4 hours at a walking pace
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Each participant will be required to sign and return to Voyageur Quest a release of liability before being allowed to participate in any trip we offer. This document releases Voyageur Quest from liability in the case of accident or injury for any reason.
