March is winding up and winter has flown by. Too fast for those of who love the snow ! Our fantastic winter team helped make this one of our best winter season’s to date. Algonquin’s north west had amazing snow from early December 2016 to today, March 20, 2017, where we still have a good two foot base for dogsled, back country ski and snowshoeing.
March break offered some of the best skating conditions ever. Skating to the three sisters with the Allison’s Tait family for sunset was a great highlight. Here is a picture of another skate on St Patrick’s day out to the Algonquin Island Retreat.
Led by Seppe, our first class team have worked so hard to make every trip the best possible experience. Working “off the grid” requires a certain set of skills. Passion is what drives our team and provides the energy for what goes on “behind the scene”. Feeding wood stoves, making amazing meals, washing dishes, heating up the sauna, etc . The days are long but our reward – time on the trail with our amazing guests!
It seems like yesterday that we were gearing up for Christmas. So many highlights to write about here. I can’t say thank you enough to Seppe, Heather, Hannah, Mark and Zach who have made this season so much fun !
