3 night stay with canoe and sauna
Winter at the Algonquin Log Cabin is a true snowy wonderland for snowshoeing and backcountry skiing and other awesome winter activities! Off the beaten track and very private, the Algonquin Log Cabin was built for active adventure types whose idea of a first class weekend (or anytime) adventure is to head to a remote lakeside cabin with special friends or family to enjoy active days and amazing food. The Algonquin Log Cabin can accommodate 12 guests. For larger groups, our Pinecroft Cabin (which can accommodate an additional 6 guests) is just steps away.
Hidden on a quiet lake at Algonquin Park’s northwest corner, the Algonquin Log Cabin makes for the ideal private cabin weekend. With a talented cook preparing tasty meals, access to snowshoe and back country ski equipment and sauna, your family or group of friends are able to enjoy the cozy comforts of the Algonquin Log Cabin with the flexibility to explore Algonquin's northwest corner! Unplug and remember the feeling of truly getting away. The Algonquin Log Cabin does not have cell service or electricity. Cozy, comfortable and free of distractions, the 2-night private experience offers your group a chance to connect in person, laugh, and have fun in a gorgeous natural playground.
The luxury here is in the wilderness lakeside location with first class cook service. Feast on tortiere with parmesan risotto, roasted vegetables, and our famous sticky pudding with hot fudge sauce. Meals are served at the large harvest table in front of the massive fireplace. Private Algonquin Park cabin weekends are shaped to your group. Hit the trails for as long or as little as you like. Add dogsledding and guided excursions. Compete for the fastest time on the luge course. Talk to Nikoline, our outstanding chef, about your menu preferences.

“Thank you so much for an incredible weekend. The fact that you got 11 of my friends to challenge themselves and try snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, is amazing. The food was incredible! Best Bachelorette!”

“Voyageur Quest organized the quintessential Canadian winter cabin experience; snowshoeing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, sauna… and they did an amazing job. Their hospitality was beyond expectation. If you get the chance, get out and book a guided outdoor experience with Voyageur Quest; you won’t be disappointed.”

It means that our cabin is not hooked up to grid electricity. We operate without the need for electricity aside from filling our water cisterns from our well, for which we use a generator.
There are two indoor bathrooms for the guests to use in the Log Cabin with flushing toilets. All of the water in the building comes from our well and is filtered for drinking before reaching the faucet.
There is a shower in the shower/sauna house was fitted with an electric pump on solar power to offer solid water pressure.
No. There is no electricity and no Wifi. There is a cell phone repeater tower within a 5 minute drive where you can get service.
Nope.
Yes you can drive right to the Log Cabin and the roads are plowed and are considered “snow roads”. Snow roads mean they are plowed into packed down snow which you are able to drive on! Snow tires are recommended.
You only need to bring your personal items: clothing, toiletries, and cameras. A complete list of what to bring will be emailed to you after booking.
Due to COVID-19 all Log Cabin trips during the pandemic will be considered private trips and no groups will be mixed.
Pre-COVID-19: There are as many as 12 guests on each trip and three staff members. Our guests range in age and nationality. We do our best to sort our guests into like-demographics (ie: families together; adults together). It’s not unusual for guests to be trading emails at the end of their trips – it’s easy to make friends when you’re having so much fun!
You should be able to be active for up to four hours (walking pace) at a time. While travelling in the backcountry, we make frequent stops for snacks, hydration, toilet, and to admire the gorgeous views!
We provide fresh and mostly whole-foods meals that are prepared with care and skill. Whether you are in the backcountry or in our Algonquin Log Cabin, you will be served appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Our guests are consistently impressed with our elevated cuisine. Please explain in detail any special dietary needs or allergies you might have during your booking. Kid-friendly foods are added to Family Trips.
We are happy to accommodate dietary requirements. For more specialty diets such as dairy free, vegan or gluten there is an additional charge. Please be sure to describe your requirement in detail when making your booking. For severe allergies, it is recommended that you bring 2 EpiPens with you.
Absolutely! (and enjoy responsibly!)
Bring whatever you wish. Best advise is to bring a bag of ice with you as well. Remember: we are off grid – that means no fridge! We can provide you with a cooler to use for your stay.
