The Manitou cottage offers a quiet nature escape for a family or group of friends. Canoe into Algonquin Park, hike the Forgotten trails, swim, fish, relax and unwind.

With 3 bedrooms , the Manitou Cottage is comfortable for a family or group up to 10 people. Off the grid, the cottage is solar powered with kitchen, washroom, BBQ , firepit, massive deck and large dock.

The Manitou cottage has three bedrooms and two washrooms. One bedroom sleeps up to 6 with three bunk beds. A canoe with paddles is included with this rental.
Off the Grid with Wifi
Algonquin's northwest does not have cell coverage offering a true escape from your day to day. Add on WiFi for an additional cost
Well Equipped Kitchen
Cook or BBQ in the well equipped kitchen. Don't feel like cooking? Add on catered meals or head to the licensed Broken Paddle patio at the top of the lake.
Add to your Stay
Add a stand up paddle board, kayak, fishing equipment. Our outfitter is located just 1km away and can help with equipment rentals.

WHAT DOES "OFF-GRID" MEAN?
It means that our cottages are not like your home and not hooked up to the Ontario Power Electricity. We operate on solar power to provide lights and run

IS THERE ELECTRICITY?
Yes, we operate on solar electricity. Our fridge , stove , water heater run on propane gas. Please note these cottages do not have enough power to plug in certain items. Talk to our office if you require powe
ARE TOWELS AND LINENS PROVIDED?
Yes, we provide towels and linens. We provide bath towels but not beach towels. If you think you might need some additional towels, we would advise you to bring some spare ones (as per our sustainability policy) as we do not provide extras.
IS THERE A NOISE POLICY?
Yes. Out of respect for our neighbours on Kawawaymog Lake, there is a strict 10 PM noise policy. We ask that guests turn off electronic music and keep noise to minimum after 10 PM.
WHAT IS THE PLUMBING (TOILET) SITUATION?
Each cottage has a bathroom with flushing toilet and a hot shower.
CAN I DRINK THE WATER?
Water is safe to cook and wash dishes with however is not safe to drink. There is clean drinking water in the water cooler provided in each cottage.
ARE THERE BOATS WE CAN USE?
The cottages come with one canoe, paddles, and PFDs. Additional canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards can be rented from our Voyageur Outfitting store, just a few minutes down the road.
CAN I FISH?
Yes, you can fish on the lake, river and surrounding area. You must have your own Ontario fishing license and Outdoors Card. For non-Canadian residents, see 1-day permits <a href=”https://www.ontario.ca/page/fishing-licence-fees-non-canadian-residents”>here</a>
Fishing rods and tackle can be rented from our Voyageur Outfitting store.
CAN I ADD ON MEALS AND GUIDED EXCURSIONS?
Single meals or fully-catered meal packages are available – contact our office for more information. The Broken Paddle Patio is licensed and offers outstanding dinners during summer months. Please ensure you make a reservation.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
We do love dogs and you are more than welcome to bring your furry friend. Please note that you are responsible
for cleaning up after your dog and for any damage to furniture, floors etc. that your dog may cause. An additional damage deposit of $250 is required for guests with pets.
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY?

<strong>Payment Policy. </strong>A 25% deposit with “to book” form information confirms the booking. The balance is due 30 days before the trip. Full payment is due for trips booked within 45 days of the trip date. Please note a 2.4% credit card fee is applied. We encourage e transfer or bank wire transfer wherever possible.
<strong>Cancellation Policy. </strong>Cancellation received 60 days or more prior to the trip – Full refund minus a $75.00 admin. fee. Cancellation received less than 60 days – Loss of initial deposit. Cancellation received less than 30 days – No refund will be issued without the purchase of cancellation insurance, purchased at the time of booking from your travel insurance provider.
