“What a fantastic trip and would highly recommend to anyone who wants an adventure! We did the three day family canoe trip with three children aged 14,12 and 11. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute even the last day where the heavens opened and we all got soaking wet. It’s hard to pick out highlights but in no particular order, the sun rise paddle as the sun rose over the trees and the mist lingered on the lake… … swimming in the pristine lakes, seeing a snapper turtle, the food, meeting the other family on the trip with us who were lovely and the food again! Special mention to our guide Heather who was absolutely amazing, cooking brilliant meal after brilliant meal (I think our kids ate better and more healthily than they do at home!) really engaging with us and the children and just working so very hard to make sure we had a great time.” Stockers Family
Had a fabulous trip with Voyageur and their senior guide Evan. Spent three nights out in Algonquin Park camping, transporting everything in two canoes with us. We had parents in one canoe and kids (age 15 and 12 years) in the same canoe with Evan. So our 12 year old could have a rest from paddling from time to time. Evan did a fantastic job of organizing everything, cooking meals and even keeping our kids engaged and entertained.
We spent 2 nights in one camp and 1 night in a second camp. Canoe excursions and the plans for the day all flexible to suit us all. With 9 moose sightings (including baby moose) and a memorable trip to a waterfall slide, and some carving activities around the camp fire, we couldn’t have had a better time. Evan took the strain of the daily routine of camping away from us adults to “make it all happen”. We all mucked in and helped out with making camp and cooking etc, but Evan emphasised we could join in with this as much or as little as we liked. The only thing we had to do was paddle! Many thanks to Evan for a truly excellent trip, for his professionalism, expertise and endless good humour, and to Voyageur for making such a memorable and happy trip possible. Hollie
