Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible experience for all guests, including people with disabilities. We strive to deliver our services in a respectful and accessible manner in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor experiences, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual needs whenever possible.
Wilderness Environment and Facilities
Our canoe trips, rentals, and outdoor experiences take place in natural wilderness environments. These experiences may include uneven terrain, docks, portages, remote access points, changing weather conditions, and other characteristics associated with backcountry travel.
In addition, some of our buildings, cottages, docks, washrooms, and other facilities may have limited accessibility and may not be fully wheelchair accessible.
As a result, some locations, facilities, or activities may not be fully accessible in the same way as indoor or urban environments. We encourage guests to contact us before booking so we can discuss trip suitability, accessibility considerations, and possible accommodations.
Support Persons
Guests with disabilities are welcome to bring a support person during their visit or trip. Support persons may assist with participation, communication, mobility, or safety.
Service Animals
We welcome service animals where it is safe and practical to do so.
Because our experiences take place in wilderness environments that may involve wildlife, canoe travel, remote locations, and changing environmental conditions, there may be situations where safety or operational considerations require individual assessment. In these situations, we will work with guests to explore reasonable accommodations and alternatives wherever possible.
Advance notice of accessibility needs is appreciated whenever possible.
Website Accessibility
We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to improve the user experience for everyone and apply recognized accessibility standards and best practices across our website.
Our website uses Ally to support ongoing accessibility improvements. This tool helps identify and address potential accessibility barriers so that our content and functionality remain as accessible and inclusive as possible.
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever feasible and recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process requiring continuous improvement.
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us so we can assist you and address the issue promptly.
Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
Information related to our services and customer experience can be made available in accessible formats or with communication supports upon request, where reasonable and practical to do so.
