No Experience Necessary
It is recommended that you can be active at a walking pace for up to 2 hours at a time.

Lunch is provided on your day trip and there is a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own delicious meals during your stay! Take advantage of our complimentary midweek wifi special or add the service for a small daily fee.

4 pairs of snowshoes are included in your stay. You have the option to backcountry ski on your day trip!

FAQs for Family Winter Adventure
It means that our cottages are not like your home and not hooked up to the Ontario Power Electricity. We operate on solar power. There is ample power for all our needs.
There is no cell service at the chalet suites, but we do have wifi available for an addional cost of $15 a day
Yes, our electricity is Solar powered. . Our fridge , stove , water heater run on propane gas. Please note these cottages do not have enough power to plug in certain items. Talk to our office if you require addtional power. Be sure to bring spare batteries for your devices when you visit
Yes you can drive right to our Algonquin Cottage Outpost . The roads are plowed and are considered “snow roads”. Snow roads mean they are plowed into packed down snow. While no special truck or 4 wheel drive is requires , we do recommend your car have snow tires. If you are concerned about driving in winter, ask our office about transport options from Toronto.

The Cottage and chalet suites have sheets, duvets , blanlets . pillows and well stocked kitchen . Please bring your own food ( dont forget coffee, oils etc ) and personal items:. A complete list of what to bring will be emailed to your after booking.
We are happy to accommodate your dietary requirements. For speciality diets such as vegan, lactose-free or gluten free we do charge a small additional cost. For life-threatening allergies please bring two EPI Pens. It is important to let our office know 30 days before your departure any dietary restrictions you may have.
We do love dogs and you are more than welcome to bring your furry friend. Please note there is a dog cost of $95 plus HST and you are responsible for cleaning up after your dog and for any damage to furniture, floors etc. that your dog may cause. An additional damage deposit of $250 is required for guests with pets.
We recommend all of our customers purchase CANCELLATION INSURANCE from their preferred suppliers. Please read the payment and cancellation policies below based on the adventure or product you are booking.
Voyageur Quest – Guided Trips (Canoe, Kayak, Winter Camping, Private & DOE) and Lodge-Based Adventures – Log Cabin, Cottages and Island and all Cottage and Cabin Rentls
Payment Policy. A 25% deposit with “to book” form information confirms the booking. The balance is due 30 days before the trip. Full payment is due for trips booked within 45 days of the trip date. Please note a 2.4% credit card fee is applied. We encourage e transfer or bank wire transfer wherever possible.
Cancellation Policy. Cancellation received 60 days or more prior to the trip – Full refund minus a $75.00 admin. fee. Cancellation received less than 60 days – Loss of initial deposit. Cancellation received less than 30 days – No refund will be issued without the purchase of cancellation insurance, purchased at the time of booking from your travel insurance provider.
