Fall at the Algonquin Log Cabin is a celebration of colours, sensational meals and active fun. The cozy ambience, wood-fired sauna and tasty home style meals served up at the harvest table hit the perfect tone.

The canoe and hiking excursions are stunning at this time of year. Think morning mists that give way to a full colour splash of red, orange and yellow. Surprise Lake is surrounded by massive hills dominated by a mixed maple hardwood forest.
It is recommended that you can be active at a walking pace for up to 4 hours at a time.
Whether cooked over a fire at the bonfire dinner at a lakeside campsite or served at the massive dining table in the Log Cabin, our meals will impress you.
Canoes, paddles, life jackets, comfy duvets, scrumptious meals are all included plus lots more. You bring all your personal items such as clothing, toiletries and a book.

It means that our cabin is not hooked up to grid electricity. We operate without the need for electricity aside from filling our water cisterns from our well, for which we use a generator.
There are two indoor bathrooms for the guests to use in the Log Cabin with flushing toilets. All of the water in the building comes from our well and is filtered for drinking before reaching the faucet.
There is a shower in the shower/sauna house which has been fitted with an electric pump on solar power to increase the water pressure.
No. There is no electricity and no Wifi. There is a cell phone repeater tower within a 5 minute drive where you can get service.

Voyageur Quest’s guides are skilled outdoor professionals who ensure your canoe or cabin trip is an adventure of a lifetime. On top of being well versed in the natural and cultural history of Algonquin Park, our guides are warm, personable, and service-oriented. Most are graduates of post-secondary programs related to outdoor adventure and all possess industry certification in wilderness first aid, life-guarding, and canoe instruction.
You only need to bring your personal items: clothing, toiletries, and cameras. A complete list of what to bring will be emailed to your after booking.
You do not require any prior experience. We host a range of guests from first-timers to grizzled outdoors people every week. Our pace is relaxed and the objective is to have fun, slow down, and leave plenty of time to explore the beauty of the Algonquin area.
Tpically, for our scheduled programs, you should be comfortable being active at a walking pace for up to 2–3 hours at a time. While travelling in the backcountry, we take regular breaks for snacks, hydration, rest, personal comfort, and to admire the views! For a private program we can happily adjust our activities to suit groups needs.
We provide fresh and mostly whole-foods meals that are prepared with care and skill. Whether you are in the backcountry or in our Algonquin Log Cabin, you will be served appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Our guests are consistently impressed with our elevated cuisine. Please explain in detail any special dietary needs or allergies you might have during your booking. Kid-friendly foods are added to Family Trips.
We are happy to accommodate any dietary requirement. Please be sure to describe your requirement in detail when making your booking. For severe allergies, it is recommended that you bring at least one EpiPen with you.
Absolutely! (and enjoy responsibly!) Bring whatever you wish. Best advise is to bring a bag of ice with you as well. Remember: we are off grid – that means no fridge! We can provide you with a cooler to use for your stay.

Payment Policy. A 25% deposit with “to book” form information confirms the booking. The balance is due 30 days before the trip. Full payment is due for trips booked within 45 days of the trip date. Please note a 2.4% credit card fee is applied. We encourage e transfer or bank wire transfer wherever possible.
Cancellation Policy. Cancellation received 60 days or more prior to the trip – Full refund minus a $75.00 admin. fee. Cancellation received less than 60 days – Loss of initial deposit. Cancellation received less than 30 days – No refund will be issued without the purchase of cancellation insurance, purchased at the time of booking from your travel insurance provider.
