Trip Itinerary

Here's what you can expect on a typical Algonquin Private Cabin Adventure. This is just an example; exact programming is subject to weather and guest preferences.

Day 1
Arrive at Voyageur Quest Nipissing Cottages at 11:30am. Meet your guide and hop into a canoe for a lesson and short paddle on Kawawaymog Lake. Return to the cottage for lunch before heading out again for an afternoon paddle. Explore the small bays for birds such as loons and herons. Navigate around islands and learn about the geography of Kawawaymog Lake. Return to the cottage for a BBQ dinner followed by an interpretive night hike and bonfire.
Day 2
After breakfast, head out on a guided wild edibles hike and learn about the mixed forest of the Algonquin area. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then head out on Surprise Lake in a canoe and explore its many islands. Finish the afternoon with a swim and sauna.
Day 3
Sunrise paddle. This early morning program is often the highlight of the four-day adventure. Search for moose and beaver lodges and take advantage of ideal photography opportunities. Breakfast is served over a campfire on a nearby island. Return to cottages by late morning. Afternoon to relax, paddle or hike on your own.
Day 4
Make the most of your final morning! Go for another sunrise paddle, or at a minimum, watch the sunrise from the dock with a hot cup of coffee. Depart at 10:00am.
