Manitou Cottage is an ideal base for your group’s adventure. With three bedrooms and over 300 feet of shoreline on beautiful Kawawaymog Lake, it offers space to gather and unwind. An expansive new deck extends your living space outdoors—perfect for relaxing after a day on the water.
With 3 bedrooms , the Manitou Cottage is comfortable for a family or group up to 10 people. Off the grid, the cottage is solar powered with kitchen, washroom, BBQ , firepit, massive deck and large dock.
The Manitou Cottage features three bedrooms and two washrooms, along with an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area, plus a separate den. The layout includes a principal bedroom with a queen bed, a second upstairs bedroom, and a bunk room that can accommodate up to six guests.
Off-grid and solar-powered, the cottage offers a more sustainable way to stay without sacrificing comfort. Stay connected with Wi-Fi when you need it, and unplug with ease while you’re out exploring—settling into a more natural rhythm of time away.
All-inclusive thoughfully prepared exceptional meals - including a night on the grill classics and smores enjoyed indoors or under the open sky.
It means that our cottages are not connected to the Ontario power grid. We generate our own power via solar power to provide lights and water pressure.
Yes, we do have Wi-Fi available. It is STARLINK and available for $15 day.
Yes, we have solar power. Cell phones, Laptops, and CPAPs are all ok. Please note that our cottage may not have enough power to plug in certain items. Contact our office if you hope to plug in something with large power needs.
Yes, we provide towels and linens. We provide bath towels but not beach towels. If you think you might need some additional towels, we would advise you to bring some spare ones (as per our sustainability policy) as we do not provide extras.
Yes. Out of respect for our neighbours on Kawawaymog Lake, there is a strict 10 PM noise policy. Noise travels a great distance over water. We ask that guests turn off electronic music and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM.
Each cottage has a bathroom with a flush toilet and a hot shower.
Water is safe to cook and wash dishes with however is not safe to drink. There is clean drinking water in the water cooler provided in each cottage.
The cottages come with one canoe, paddles, and PFDs. Additional canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards can be rented from our Voyageur Outfitting store, just a few minutes down the road.
Yes, you can fish on the lake, river and surrounding area. You should have an Ontario fishing licence and an Outdoors Card. For non-Canadian residents, see 1-day permits <a href=”https://www.ontario.ca/page/fishing-licence-fees-non-canadian-residents”>here</a>
Fishing rods and tackle can be rented from our Voyageur Outfitting store.
Single meals or fully-catered meal packages are available – contact our office for more information. The Broken Paddle Patio is licensed and offers outstanding dinners during summer months. Please ensure you make a reservation.
We do love dogs, and you are more than welcome to bring your furry friend. There is a pet fee of $95 plus HST, and you are responsible
for cleaning up after your dog and for any damage to furniture, floors, etc. that your dog may cause. An additional $250 damage deposit is required for guests with pets.
We recommend all of our customers purchase CANCELLATION INSURANCE from their preferred suppliers. Please read the payment and cancellation policies below based on the adventure or product you are booking.

Payment Policy. A 25% deposit with “to book” form information confirms the booking. The balance is due 30 days before the trip. Full payment is due for trips booked within 45 days of the trip date. Please note a 2.4% credit card fee is applied. We encourage e-transfer or bank wire-transfer wherever possible.
Cancellation Policy. Cancellation received 60 days or more prior to the trip – Full refund minus a $75.00 admin. fee. Cancellation received less than 60 days – Loss of initial deposit. Cancellation received less than 30 days – No refund will be issued without the purchase of cancellation insurance, purchased at the time of booking from your travel insurance provider.
